About The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a classic tale of love, adventure, and self-discovery. It is a family and child-friendly musical show that features catchy songs, colourful costumes, and dazzling effects. The story follows the journey of Ariel, a young mermaid who longs to explore the world above the sea and falls in love with a human prince. She makes a deal with a wicked sea witch to trade her voice for legs, but soon realises that she has to fight for her true happiness.

The musical is based on the 1989 Disney animated film, which was inspired by the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical has a book by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken, and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater. The musical premiered on Broadway in 2008 and has been performed in various countries since then. The musical has a new live-action film adaptation released in May 2023, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel and featuring new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
